Hello and thank you for finding me here. In this blog you'll find information about Rebirthing Breathwork, creativity, spirituality and life.
Before we get started, I thought I'd introduce you to "me" so you know something about the human behind the words.
I'm Jo McEniery, Founder, Rebirthing Breathwork Practitioner and Creative Facilitator at The Yin Breath. I'm delighted to be bringing this gentle yet powerful work to the world.
I didn't always do this work... in fact, I've only been in this area full-time for the past few months.
Prior to taking the plunge to working as my own boss, I worked for many years in the arts and not-for-profit worlds. I've been everything from grant writer to development professional, government relations/advocacy person, marketing assistant, executive assistant, ticketing and front of house officer and even, for a very (very) short time, CEO.
I loved working in the arts and not-for-profit sectors because I care about people, I love writing, dancing, singing and all of the performing arts. I am passionate about equity of access to the arts and to arts education, and I believe one of the most enriching gifts we can pass on to the next generation is song, dance, reading, writing and all forms of creativity.
However, after many years giving what felt like my entire person to that work, I began to burn out. Luckily, I'd been working on my other love and secret passion in the background for quite a number of years: energy work, body work and breathwork. These were the very things that supported me through challenging and stressful times in my own life and work, and I love sharing the beauty, joy and magic of this work with others. My favourite place to inhabit is the crossover between the 'real' world and the spiritual world... for me, the two worlds are and always have been very much interconnected.
I'm currently offering face-to-face 1-1 Rebirthing Breathwork sessions from my beautiful foresty treatment room in Selby, in Melbourne's Dandenong Ranges, and I'll shortly be announcing some small group creative writing/creative expression sessions for those of you who are longing to share their heart stories with the world (or with a small group of supportive individuals!)
